Wilhelm Autenrieth

Wilhelm Autenrieth (born April 1, 1863 in Langensteinbach , Baden , † January 25, 1926 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) was a German pharmacist .

Life

Autenrieth studied chemistry and pharmacy in Berlin and Freiburg im Breisgau and received his doctorate in Erlangen in 1888 . As an assistant at the Medical Faculty in Freiburg, Autenrieth was able to complete his habilitation in 1895 and worked there for another five years.

In 1900 Autenrieth was appointed associate professor of medicinal and pharmaceutical chemistry. From 1901 the chemist August Brüning was one of his students there. In 1921 he became head of the Pharmaceutical-Medical Department of the Chemical Institute of the University of Freiburg. Here, together with Leo Königsberger , he developed a colorimeter especially for laboratories . As a toxicologist, Autenrieth also frequently dealt with poison tests in criminal cases.

Wilhelm Autenrieth died on January 25, 1926 at the age of 62 in Freiburg im Breisgau.
