pharmacist

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In Germany, a pharmacist is a state-certified person who has completed the study of pharmacy with the 2nd section of the pharmaceutical examination (colloquially the 2nd state examination ).

Despite the completed studies, the pharmacist from different pharmacist , he (still) no approval granted has received and thus neither a pharmacy guide, still represented a pharmacist or under federal pharmacists order protected professional title may lead. In the German legal text, pharmacists are referred to as pharmacist interns (since 2009 "pharmacist in internship") before they are licensed to practice as a pharmacist . Pharmacist is sometimes also used as a term for licensed pharmacists who do not work in the pharmacy but in other areas, e.g. B. in industry or administration.

A pharmacist is always a pharmacist, a pharmacist, but not necessarily a pharmacist. A diploma pharmacist, on the other hand, is a person who has completed a diploma thesis in one of the pharmaceutical subjects after passing the 2nd state examination. However, as part of a postgraduate course, this is only possible at some universities (e.g. University of Jena, University of Tübingen, University of Greifswald, University of Halle, University of Bonn, University of Freiburg, University of Saarland) where pharmacy is taught. A graduate pharmacist is not necessarily a pharmacist because the only requirement for writing a thesis is the 2nd state examination and not a license to practice medicine. At the same time, a pharmacist is not necessarily a qualified pharmacist, because the prerequisite for being granted a license to practice medicine is a passed pharmaceutical examination and not a diploma.

A distinction must therefore be made between a university (academic) degree (diploma degree) and a state degree (state examination / pharmaceutical examination, license to practice medicine).

In the GDR , the course ended with a state job title Diplompharmazeut. Academic degrees or titles can only be obtained with a doctorate or habilitation .
