Alfred Biehle (born November 15, 1926 in Augsburg , † October 29, 2014 in Karlstadt ) was a German politician ( CSU ). From 1990 to 1995 he was the German Bundestag's defense commissioner .

Life and work

After completing a commercial apprenticeship, Biehle took part in the Second World War as a soldier (aviator) in the Air Force from 1944 . In 1945 he was wounded; after the end of the war he initially worked as an industrial clerk. From 1950 to 1969 he worked as an editor at the Würzburger Main-Post .

Alfred Biehle was married and had a daughter. He was a member of the Advisory Board of the German Officer Association Foundation . Biehle died on October 29, 2014 in a hospital in Karlstadt, Lower Franconia, at the age of 87.

Political party

From 1944 to 1945 Biehle was a member of the NSDAP . In 1948 he became a member of the Junge Union and then joined the CSU in 1950. From 1955 to 1970 he was chairman of the CSU district association in the Main-Spessart district .

Biehle was a member of Karlstadt's city ​​council from 1956 to 1978 and from 1984 to April 27, 1990 . From 1956 to 1972 he was a member of the district council of the Main-Spessart district . From 1969 to 1990 he was a member of the German Bundestag . Here he was chairman of the Defense Committee from 1982 to 1990 . In 1983/84 he was chairman of the committee of inquiry into the investigation of the Kießling affair and in 1988/89 of the " Ramstein committee of inquiry ". Biehle was last (11th electoral term 1987) with 61.6% of the votes directly elected member of the constituency Main-Spessart .

Public offices

From 1960 to 1966 Biehle was Karlstadt's second mayor. He was then deputy district administrator until 1972.

From April 1990 to April 1995, Biehle was the German Bundestag's defense commissioner. The effects of the Gulf conflict , the integration of soldiers from the former National People's Army and the deployment of Bundeswehr soldiers under an international mandate were his main areas of work.
