François Morellet (born April 30, 1926 in Cholet , Département Maine-et-Loire , France ; † May 10, 2016 there ) was a French artist who mainly dealt with painting , light art , kinetic art , sculpture and copper engraving . Morellet initially worked in his parents' company from 1948 to 1975. During this time he was self-taught with painting before he also took lessons from a painter.
