Jacqueline Lichtenstein

Jacqueline Lichtenstein (* 1947 ; † April 3, 2019 ) was a French philosopher and art historian . From 2004 she was Professor of Art Philosophy at the University of Paris IV Sorbonne . Before that she was Professor of Aesthetics at the University of Berkeley and from 1991 at the University of Paris X Nanterre . Since 1996 she has worked with Christian Michel on the publication of the conferences of the Royal Academy of Painting and Sculpture.

Lichtenstein dealt with color theory and the relationship between painting and sculpture . The subjects of her research also included the changes in art theory as a result of the emergence of aesthetics and art criticism .
