Peter Stuyvesant (cigarette brand)
Peter Stuyvesant is a cigarette brand from the Reemtsma company . The famous slogan, which was created by the Swiss Fritz Bühler in 1958, is: "The scent of the big wide world: Peter Stuyvesant". Later, in the 1980s, the slogan was then: "The taste of the big, wide world". The snappy march that was promoted is the Sportsmaster March by Robert Busby (1951). This cigarette brand was named after Petrus Stuyvesant , the governor of Nieuw Amsterdam , the later city of New York City .

Art collection
The Peter Stuyvesant Collection , a collection of more than 1,400 works of art, has been called BATartventure since the merger of Rothmans and British American Tobacco . In the late 1950s, the then director of Peter Stuyvesant, Alexander Orlow, had the paintings hung over the machines in the production halls in Zevenaar . Parts of the collection have been sold since 2008, most recently on March 8, 2010 at Sotheby’s in Amsterdam . On July 2, 2012, the last and largest part of the collection will go under the hammer in Amsterdam, reported the Dutch newspaper de Volkskrant on June 25, 2012.
