Veikko Karvonen
Veikko Leo Karvonen (born January 5, 1926 in Sakkola, Finland , today Gromowo , Russia , † August 1, 2007 in Turku ) was a Finnish marathon runner who achieved his great success in the 1950s.
At the Olympic Games in Melbourne in 1956 , he won the bronze medal in the marathon.
Between 1950 and 1955 he improved the Finnish national marathon record seven times.
