Helmut Lambert

Helmut Lambert (born July 24, 1904 in Lübben / Niederlausitz ; † October 1944 (?)) Was an SA brigad leader and until June 1944 regional president in Aurich .

As the son of a military doctor, he studied economics and law in Hamburg and Berlin, where he obtained his doctorate . He then went on trips abroad through Holland, Finland and, in 1925, to Russia.

In the second half of 1925 he joined the SA and NSDAP ( membership number 103.170). He also continued his legal career. He passed his legal traineeship examination at the Berlin Court of Appeal, then the assessor examination in Celle .

In the following years he devoted himself entirely to the political goals of the leadership of the NSDAP and appeared as SA leader and SA speaker. In May 1933 he was appointed district administrator of Hameln . In this capacity he took on tasks for the preparation of the Reichsthingstätte of the Bückeberg of the rural people. Furthermore, he was involved in the conception and realization of the Horst Wessel memorial on the Süntel .

In April 1939 he was appointed government vice-president in Erfurt . With the outbreak of the Second World War he was drafted into the Wehrmacht . After completing a course for officer candidates , he served from 1941 to the end of June 1942 on the Eastern Front as a lieutenant in a motorized infantry regiment. Because of his services to the front, he was awarded the Iron Cross II. Class and the Infantry Assault Badge.

On August 18, 1942, he took on acting, from June 1943 fully the President of the Government in Aurich . This administrative district consisted of the urban district of Emden and the districts of Aurich ( East Friesland ), Leer , Norden and Wittmund .

He was promoted to SA brigade leader in 1943. In June 1944 he was drafted back into the Wehrmacht. He has been missing at the front since October 1944.
