origin

Career

In 1819 Marschalck was enrolled as a law student in Göttingen , where he became a member of the Corps Bremensia . In 1823 he was an auditor in Hoya , Neuhaus and Stade , and in 1832 he was already a councilor in Osnabrück . In 1835, after about a year off, he became a councilor in Hanover . In 1841, after the unexpected death of the Landdrosten in Aurich, Anton Friedrich Christian von Wersebe (1784–1841), Marschalck filled the vacancy there at the age of 41. Thanks to his careful administration during the revolution , East Frisia was spared major unrest. In 1855 he was a member of the Hanover State Council . In 1857, Marschalck was ousted from office by Wilhelm Friedrich Otto von Borries , who himself fell out of favor in 1862 and had to resign. Then he retired to his older brother Otto Marschalck von Bachtenbrock , who was called the "red Marschalck" to distinguish him from him, and who was Landdrost in Osnabrück and Stade at the same time. Until then, Carl Detlev Marschalck was called the "black Marschalck". After his brother died in 1858, Marschalck moved his center of life to Verden or to the neighboring Gut Bockel as a summer residence.

For his work he had received the Knight's Cross of the Guelph Order .
