Mario Cavagnaro
Mario Cavagnaro Llerena (born February 16, 1926 in Arequipa , † September 29, 1998 in Lima ) was a Peruvian Cantauthor .
Cavagnaro worked as a writer and presenter for radio and television. He initially appeared as a composer with boleros. Osito de Felpa became internationally known in the interpretation of the trio Los Panchos , and La Primera Piedra became a hit with Pepe Miranda . Later he turned to Creole music and became famous with pieces such as Historia de mi Vida , Afane otro estofao , Barranco en el ayer , "Barrio mío, barrio añejo , Cántame ese vals, patita , Canto a Trujillo , Carretas, aquí es el tono , Cuando un criollo se muere ,Cutato ¿Por qu , Hoy te quiero más , La noche de tu ausencia , Lima de novia , Lima de octubre , Los días que me quedan , Mala mujer , Todos los peruanos somos el Perú , Yo la quería, patita and Osito de felpa zum most important Peruvian representative of this genre in the 20th century. Many of his compositions were inspired by characters from Radio El Sol 's Dibujos Animados de la Radio series . Cavagnaro suffered from diabetes and cardiac arrhythmias and died of cardiac arrest in 1998.
