Silvio Amadio (born August 8, 1926 in Frascati , † August 19, 1995 in Rome ) was an Italian film director and screenwriter .

Life

Amadio began his career after studying law as a documentary filmmaker in the 1950s (e.g. Il tennis , 1957). He worked as a screenwriter and assistant director , often with Raffaello Matarazzo . After he turned to directing from 1957, he made a number of well-staged, but mostly not particularly successful films due to limited distribution. B. one of the first Giallos ( Il segreto del vestito rosso , 1965) and a parapsychological thriller ( Il medium , 1979). In the 1970s he worked as a producer for "Domizia Film" and was a member of the board of ANICA , the Italian film association. After Il carabiniere , created in 1981 , Amadio left the film business and studied theology .

Only some of Amadio's 25 or so films were shown in the German-speaking area. For Una settimana come un altra he won a David di Donatello in 1978.
