action

To avenge the death of his parents, who were robbed of their lands and killed by the Clark brothers, Scott learns the craft of shooting from the formerly famous Carranza. Despite warnings from his friend, Sheriff Steven, and his sister Betty, he goes on a tour of revenge. He carries out attacks on the Clark family, who soon want to hire a shrewd gunslinger to protect them. Scott himself can be hired for $ 1,000 a day. In this role he can shoot two of the perpetrators; the third, Jason, he brings to Steven to confess to his crimes. At a court hearing, however, he is acquitted thanks to a shrewd lawyer. Scott is happy that he can now kill Jason himself, which he does after three hired killers seriously injured Steven. The lands stolen from the Clark family are returned; Peace reigns in the region. Steven and Betty, who Scott loves, ask him to stay with them, but when he becomes a gunslinger, Scott has chosen solitude as well.

criticism

“Hard and second class” occurred to the lexicon of international films when assessing the German version. JJ Dupuich also classified the film as a Western series, carefully staged, but “with the simplicity of a comic for children. Lots of deaths, little blood, and a cold feeling that turns a declaration of love alone into a distraction from a death trap. ”The Protestant film observer came to a similar assessment:“ Average European Western: hard, superficial and unsatisfactory in terms of presentation. ”
