Rubén Rojo
Rubén Rojo y Pinto (born December 15, 1922 in Madrid , † March 30, 1993 in Mexico City ) was a Spanish - Mexican actor .
Life
Rojo comes from a family of diplomats and artists; Because of his father's profession, he spent his childhood and youth in numerous southern European and South American countries as well as in Cuba. At the age of nine he made his debut on stage in Argentina; he made his first film in Cuba when he was sixteen. He started a steady career from 1943, now in Mexico, where Rojo was seen in numerous films until 1951, including some popular successes (such as Soledad , 1947; Alto floga sobre el agua , 1948; Aventurera , 1950 and En carne viva , 1951) .
In 1952 he returned to his native country and continued his career there; from the middle of the decade he also played in international productions. From the beginning of the 1960s, Mexican television became a second mainstay. Rojo was able to perform more than fifteen telenovelas. After the beginning of the 1970s (the years 1988 to 1991 are an exception) it was rarely seen in cinema productions.
Rojo, who had also received Mexican citizenship, was married to his colleague Marta Aura .
