Mirko Ellis
Mirko Ellis (actually Mirko Korcinski ; born September 4, 1923 in Locarno , Canton Ticino ; † September 11, 2014 in Alghero , Italy ) was a Swiss actor .
Life
Mirko Korcinski's family is of Lithuanian origin, he was born in Switzerland in 1923. As an actor he made his debut after the Second World War under his maiden name in Aldo Vergano's film Il sole sorge ancora and played on stage with Maria Melato . In 1949 he changed his name and from then on appeared in numerous Italian films under his stage name Ellis ; over time, the blonde actor became a busy character actor in mostly average, commercialized genre goods. In addition, he played in various theater groups, such as those of Elena Zareschi , Maria Letizia Celli and Mario Pisu . Under Adolfo Geri he played in Anastasia in 1956 and made his television debut the following year. By 1980 his list of actors included around 80 productions.
From 1947 on, Ellis played alongside Maria Melato , later at the “Teatro dei Satiri” (1951). In addition to Elena Zareschi , Maria Letizia Celli and Mario Pisu, he took part in a well-received production of Anastasia in 1956 . The following year he made his television debut in La cucina degli angeli under Alessandro Brissoni . After a staging of Treasure Island in 1959 under Giulio Antonio Majano , it was not seen again on the screen until 1977 in a Hemingway film adaptation.
Ellis was married to fellow actress Esther Maring . He lived in Alghero in Sardinia . On September 11, 2014, he fell from the balcony of his apartment on the fourth floor and died at the scene of the accident.
