Ivano Fontana (born November 23, 1926 in L'Aquila , † December 24, 1993 ) was an Italian middleweight boxer .

Fontana won the bronze medal in the middleweight division at the 1948 Olympic Games in London , losing it in the semifinals against the Hungarian László Papp . At the European Championships in Oslo in 1949 , he took another third place.

In December 1949 he switched to the professionals, but had only moderate success there. In 1952 he won the Italian middleweight title and in 1955 the light heavyweight championship. In March 1955 he lost to Bubi Scholz by knockout in the fifth round. His last fight on January 11, 1958 in Dortmund's Westfalenhalle , he lost to Erich Schöppner by knockout in the fourth round.
