Tadashi Abe
Tadashi Abe ( Japanese阿 部 正, Abe Tadashi ; * 1926 ; † November 23, 1984 ) was a Japanese Aikido teacher who lived and taught in France from 1952 to 1960 . He is one of the first teachers who brought Aikidō to Europe .
He was a direct student of Ueshiba Morihei 's second generation. One of his students was André Nocquet , a French 5th dan in judo (student of Mikinosuke Kawaishi ).
Abe's letter of recommendation made it possible for Nocquet to learn from Ueshiba Morihei, although he had great reservations about teaching Aikidō to foreigners. From July 1955 Nocquet was allowed to learn as Uchi-deshi in Tokyo; he left Japan in December 1957 as the 4th Dan Aikido.
