Gerhard Dallmann

Gerhard Dallmann (born June 18, 1926 in Stettin ) is a German pastor and writer .

Live and act

The son of a businessman and a piano teacher attended the Schiller Realgymnasium in his hometown of Stettin , but dropped out of school and began an apprenticeship as an optician in 1940. In 1942 he was drafted into the Reich Labor Service , immediately afterwards in 1943 into the Wehrmacht . There he was a radio operator in the Navy . In 1945 he deserted to Denmark and was sentenced to death in absentia. Although a deserter, he came to Belgium as a prisoner of war after the end of the war , where he had to work in a coal mine.

After his release from captivity in November 1947, he began diaconal training in 1948 and from 1951 was active in youth work in the Pomeranian Evangelical Church . From 1954 he was a pastor in Tribsees , in 1960 he took on a position as head of training in the Diakoniehaus Züssow and was then from 1965 until his retirement in 1991 pastor at the Bugenhagen Church in Greifswald-Wieck .

From 1975 Dallmann published short stories, novels and books for young people. They play in Pomerania , although he was not allowed to use the names "Pommern" and "Stettin" in his books published in the GDR .

Gerhard Dallmann is married and has three children; his oldest son is the horn player and music professor Christian-Friedrich Dallmann . His older brother Wolfgang Dallmann (* 1924, † 2008) became professor of church music in Heidelberg.
