Julius Arnold (politician)

Ernst Julius Arnold (born August 30, 1847 in Plothen ; † November 10, 1926 in Berlin ) was a lawyer and member of the German Reichstag .

Arnold attended grammar school in Schleiz from 1857 to 1866 and the universities of Leipzig and Jena until 1870 , where he studied law and political science. In 1871 he entered the civil service, from 1873 he was a court assessor, from 1878 district judge in Burgk , from 1887 district judge in Zeulenroda and first district judge in Greiz from 1902. He was also chairman of the regional association of military and warrior associations of the Principality of Reuss older line. As such, he was also a representative of the state association in the German Warrior League and in the Kyffhäuserbund of the German state warrior associations . As a non-commissioned officer in the 5th Thuringian Infantry Regiment No. 94 (Grand Duke of Saxony) he participated in the Franco-Prussian War of 1870/71 and was wounded and captured. He was awarded the Iron Cross II. Class and the Princely Reussian Honor Cross III. Class .

From 1907 to 1912 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Reuss older line 1 Greiz , Burgk and the German Conservative Party .

His grave is on the south-west cemetery in Stahnsdorf .
