career

Knox Ramsey was born to a Methodist minister. Like his older brother Buster Ramsey , he studied at the College of William & Mary , where he also played as a guard for their football team. In 1948 he was the Chicago Bears in the fifth round of 32 spot drafted . Ramsey decided to sign a contract with the Los Angeles Dons , a team of the All-America Football Conference (AAFC), a competitive league of the NFL, which had drawn him 37th in the AAFC Draft in the ninth round. The AAFC had to stop playing in 1949. Numerous AAFC players joined the NFL and Ramsey was drawn by the San Francisco 49ers in an additional draft set by the NFL in 1950 , but was immediately given to the Chicago Cardinals . The Cardinals were trained by Curly Lambeau and also had Knox's brother Ramsey Buster Ramsey under contract. After his brother had ended his career in 1951, Knox Ramsey first moved to the Philadelphia Eagles in 1952 to be handed over to the Washington Redskins in the same year , where Curly Lambeau had now taken over as coach. After the 1953 season, Knox Ramsey ended his career due to an injury.
