Cheo García

José Rafael García Añez ( Cheo García ; born May 1, 1926 in Maracaibo , † December 20, 1994 ) was a Venezuelan singer.

At the age of ten García was the solo singer of the Estampas Líricas en Miniatura , a children's choir with which he went on a concert tour to Bogotá. He later sang in various dance orchestras in his hometown until he went to Caracas in 1953. There Chucho Sanoja brought him to the orchestra of Radio Difusora Venezuela , with whom he worked for two years. In 1956 he became a member of the orchestra of Juanito Arteta , later he sang with Pablo Armitano and finally he became a member of Jorge Beltráns Los Peniques .

In 1960 he met Billo Frómeta , whose Billo's Caracas Boys he was a member of for 21 years. With the orchestra he sang successful titles such as La Vaca Vieja , Toy Contento , La Flor del Trabajo , La Negra Leonor , El Caballo Alazán , Pa 'Maracaibo Me Voy , No Hay Quien le Gane , Santa Marta, Barranquilla y Cartagena , Los Cadetes , Canto a Caracas , Ariel , El Profesor Rui Rua , El Brujo and Si Yo Tuviera una Novia , went on concert tours through Colombia, Costa Rica, Spain and the USA and became known as the Guarachero de América .

From 1981 was García Member of Renato Capriles ' Los Melódicos until 1983 Memo Morales , the La Gran Orquesta de Cheo y Memo founded, which also Gustavo Farrera and José Luis Marea belonged. In addition, he continued to perform occasionally with Frómeta's orchestra.
