Renato Capriles

Rafael Renato Capriles Ayala (born December 28, 1931 in Puerto Cabello , † July 8, 2014 in Caracas ) was a Venezuelan musician and orchestra conductor.

Capriles grew up in a large family with fourteen children. In the early 1950s he took over public relations work for the media company Cadena Capriles, founded by Miguel Ángel Capriles Ayala . In 1958 he founded the Los Melódicos orchestra with Billo Frómeta, which has dominated light music in Venezuela for over 50 years.

The orchestra became known with hits such as Apágame la vela , Papachongo , Mi cocha pechocha , Por ti amor , Diávolo and Zúmbalo and recorded the albums ! Es otra cosa¡ (1985), Juntos los grandes del baile (1986) and Incomparable (1995 ) on. Singer such as Norma López , Emilita Dago , Diveana , Floriana , Liz , Angie , Víctor Piñero , Rafa Galindo , Rafael “Rafa” Pérez, became known with this orchestra .Cherry Navarro , Cheo García , Roberto Antonio and Miguel Moly .
