Julie Adams
Julie Adams (born Betty May Adams on October 17, 1926 in Waterloo , Iowa , † February 3, 2019 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American actress . In some actor lists she appears as Julia Adams or Betty Adams . She started her career in western films .
Life
In 1949 the young actress began working for Universal Studios . Here she first used her real name, Betty Adams. Only then did she become Julia and finally Julie Adams . In the 1950s she played a variety of film roles, often as a female lead, although mostly only in smaller film productions. She became known as Kay Lawrence in the horror classic The Horror of the Amazon (1954). She was also seen as a partner of James Stewart in Anthony Mann's Western Mutiny on the Snake River (1952).
Adams later made numerous guest appearances on TV series such as Yancy Derringer , Murder Is Her Hobby , Cold Case - No Victim Is Ever Forgotten , Big Valley and Lost . She worked as an actress well into old age and last appeared in the short film The Lucky Southern Star in 2018.
Julie Adams was married to Ray Danton from 1954 to 1981 and had two sons. Before that, she was married to the screenwriter Leonard B. Stern from 1951 until the divorce in 1953 . Julie Adams died in February 2019 at the age of 92.
