Finn Rudolf Gustavsen (born February 22, 1926 in Drammen , † July 20, 2005 ) was a Norwegian socialist and politician .

Life

Gustavsen has been active in the labor party since the 1950s . He worked as a journalist for their newspaper Orientering since 1953 , having previously worked for various newspapers. Together with Berge Furre , he was one of the main characters in the so-called Easter unrest , which turned against the US nuclear policy . As a consequence, Gustavsen was excluded from the labor party.

In 1961 he founded the Sosialistisk Folkeparti (Socialist People's Party, SF), which in autumn 1961 was able to win two seats for the Storting : one for Gustavsen, who stood in Oslo , and one for Asbjørn Holm . Gustavsen represented the city between 1961 and 1969 and, after a four-year break, again from 1973 to 1977.

In the 1970s, the SF joined forces with the Communist Party to form the Sosialistik Valgforbund and existed from 1975 as Sosialistisk Venstreparti (Socialist Left Party). Gustavsen headed this party for a long time.

Gustavsen was a member of Oslo City Council from 1971 to 1975 and again from 1985 to 1987.
