Juan Bautista Cardinal Benlloch y Vivó ( Catalan Joan Benlloch i Vivó ; born December 29, 1864 in Valencia , Spain , † February 14, 1926 in Madrid ) was Archbishop of Burgos .
Life
Juan Bautista Benlloch y Vivó completed his academic years in Valencia with doctorates in Catholic theology and canon law . He received on 25 February 1888 sacrament of Holy Orders , and then worked as a lecturer at the Seminary of Valencia. From 1893 to 1898 he served as pastor los Santos Juanes parish one of the most important churches of Valencia, the Iglesia de.
From 1899 to 1901 Benlloch was a professor and vicar general in the diocese of Segovia . In 1901 Pope Leo XIII appointed him . the titular bishop of Hermopolis Maior and Apostolic Administrator of Solsona .
In 1906, Pope Pius X made him head of the Urgell diocese . During this time Benlloch wrote the national anthem of Andorra , of which he was co-regent as Bishop of Urgell . Pope Benedict XV appointed him Archbishop of Burgos in 1919 and accepted him on March 7, 1921 as a cardinal priest with the titular church of Santa Maria in Aracoeli in the college of cardinals .
Juan Bautista Cardinal Benlloch y Vivó attended the conclave of 1922. From September 1923 to January 1924, he traveled to Latin America as a special envoy for the Spanish government . He died in Madrid on February 14, 1926 and was buried in Burgos Cathedral.
