Tulsi Giri

Tulsi Giri ( Nepali तुलसी गिरि ; born September 26, 1926 in Bastipur , Siraha District , Nepal ; † December 18, 2018 in Budhanilkantha (Kathmandu) ) was a Nepalese politician who was not party to the party and who served as first minister between 1960 and 1963 and in 1963 from Was Prime Minister of Nepal three times from 1964 to 1965 and again between 1975 and 1977 .

Life

Giri first became First Minister on December 26, 1960 and was last Prime Minister of Nepal for the first time from April 2, 1963 until his replacement by Surya Bahadur Thapa on December 23, 1963 . In his first government, he took over the post of Foreign Minister from 1960 to 1962 and again from 1962 to 1963. In addition, from 1961 to 1962 he also took on the post of Minister of the Interior and, at the same time, Minister of Public Works and Communication in his cabinet. Most recently he held the post of Minister for Palace Affairs in his first government between 1962 and 1963. In 1964, he briefly held the post of interior minister in the cabinet of his successor Thapa.

On February 26, 1964, Giri took over the office of Prime Minister for the second time from Surya Bahadur Thapa and held this position until he was replaced by Surya Bahadur Thapa on January 26, 1965. In his government between 1964 and 1965 he also took over the offices of Minister of the Interior and Minister of Palace Affairs.

As the successor to Nagendra Prasad Rijal , Giri became Prime Minister for the third time on December 1, 1975 and held this office until he was replaced by Kirti Nidhi Bista on September 12, 1977. During his third term in office, he was in his cabinet between 1975 and 1977 also holds the offices of Minister for Palace Affairs and Minister of Defense.

During the vacancy of the Prime Minister's office, Giri served as Vice-Chairman of the Royal Council of Ministers from February 1, 2005 to April 25, 2006.
