Chandra Shamsher Jang Bahadur Rana (also Anglicized as Chandra Shumsher Jung Bahadur Rana ; nepali : चन्द्र शमशेर जङ्ग बहादुर राणा, Candra Śamśer Jaṅg Bahādur Rāṇā; * July 8, 1863 ; † November 26, 1929 ) was from June 27, 1901 to 26. November 1929 Prime Minister of Nepal .

During his term of office the abolition of slavery in Nepal (1924), the electrification of Kathmandu in the same year and the establishment of the first university in Nepal, the Tri-Chandra College (1918), through which higher education also became accessible to the people for the first time.
