Louisa Thiers , née Louisa Kirwan Capron , (born October 2, 1814 in Whitesboro , New York , † February 17, 1926 in Milwaukee , Wisconsin ) held the record for the highest reached human age from 1925 to 1926 .

Life

Louisa Thiers was born on October 2, 1814 in Whitesboro, New York State. She was the youngest of 6 children. Thiers had 4 brothers and a sister. In 1830 the family moved to the city of Kenosha, Wisconsin .

On April 6, 1847, she married David Bodine Thiers, born in 1820, in New York. The couple had five children, but one of them died in infancy. In 1850 the family moved to Milwaukee, where Louisa Thiers lived until her death. Her husband died in 1875.

Age record

On August 19, 1925, Thiers surpassed Margaret Ann Neve's age record . She was the first person known to live to be 111 years old. She died on February 17, 1926 at the age of 111 years and 138 days. Thiers held the record from August 19, 1925 to September 19, 1926, a total of 1 year and 31 days. It was surpassed on September 20, 1926 by Delina Filkins .
