Margaret Ann Neve
Margaret Ann Neve (née Harvey ; born May 18, 1792 in St. Peter Port , Guernsey ; † April 4, 1903 ibid) held the record of the highest reached human age from 1902 to 1925 . She was the first woman known to live to be 110 years old.
Life
In 1823 she married John Neve and lived in England until his death in 1849; their marriage remained childless. Then she returned to Guernsey. She traveled a lot, especially with her sister. Her last trip was to Krakow in 1872. Her sister died at the age of 98. Her mother was 99 years old.
She was the first supercentenarian of the 20th century and the first to live in three centuries: the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. On October 1, 1902, she became the oldest person in the world when she overtook Geert Adriaans Boomgaard , the oldest person to date . She held the age record for almost 23 years until August 19, 1925, after which it was exceeded by Louisa Thiers .
