Karl Heinz Turk

Karl Heinz Türk (born August 15, 1926 in Nörvenich ; † September 26, 2019 in Merzenich ) was a German author and local researcher .

biography

After attending school, Türk learned the carpentry trade. After being wounded in the Second World War , he worked in the municipal administration of the Nörvenich town hall , mainly in the field of culture and sport.

His private hobby, dealing with the history of his hometown, could be combined with professional activity. He initiated archaeological excavations, documented community life and wrote books and articles about Nörvenich and nearby places. For many years he worked on the history of Nörvenich.

In many areas he worked with Ernst Ohst , who illustrated the drafts. In 1978, Türk was awarded the Rheinlandtaler for his commitment . He lived with his wife in Düren , later in a senior citizens' home in Merzenich. One of his brothers was the former member of the state parliament, Hubert Türk .
