"Mayor's Office" is written above the entrance. That was the correct name at the time of construction. On the ground floor there was an office for the mayor and three other offices for the employees. The mayor himself lived on the first floor , later his representative in the attic . The inscription above the main entrance was not correct from 1946 to 1994, because at that time the municipal director was in charge of the administration and the mayor was only a volunteer. From 1994 a full-time mayor was the head of the municipal administration and the inscription was correct again.

Later, more and more tasks came to a municipal administration and through mergers in 1969 and 1975 the administrative area grew steadily. This made it necessary to convert the previous apartment on the 1st floor into offices .

In the early 1960s, a low-rise building was added for the community director, which also included a meeting room. Later, a gable roof was placed on top of the low building to protect the building. When the longtime community director died, the apartment was converted into offices.

In 1988/89 a larger meeting place was built for the community behind the old town hall , the Neffeltalhalle. An intermediate wing was built between this hall and the old town hall. He brought more offices and a new boardroom.

In the mid-1990s, the old town hall was completely renovated inside and out. For monument protection reasons, the transom windows with single-pane glazing could not be removed or changed. That is why thermopen-glazed windows were also installed inside. The roof was re-covered with original roof tiles from 1910, which had to be specially made. A bay window has been restored. The front door has been renewed as it used to be.

45 employees work in the town hall. On August 1, 2009, the social welfare office was spun off and housed in the former building of the Barbara kindergarten at Jakob-Breidkopff-Straße 4. In 2015 the offices were set up again in the town hall and the building at Jakob-Breidkopff-Straße 4 was converted into refugee accommodation. In July 2016, construction work began in the inner courtyard of the town hall to make space for a citizens' office. The opening was in April 2017.

The house was entered on March 19, 1985 in the monument list of the municipality of Nörvenich under No. 45.

Plaque

Honor plaque from the First World War in the town hall

A stone plaque has been hanging on the ground floor of the town hall since the summer of 2013 in memory of the 15 dead and missing residents of the town during the First World War . The panel was discovered during the renovation of the heating system in the cellar of the Nörvenich parish church of St. Medardus in autumn 2012. After extensive cleaning of soot, concrete residues and dust, a lease agreement was signed between the parish and the parish of St. Josef. The memorial plaque is open to the public during the opening hours of the town hall.
