Ernst von Bomhard

Ernst Theresius Moritz Bernhard von Bomhard (born February 15, 1833 in Waischenfeld , † December 2, 1912 in Berlin-Grunewald ) was a German judge. He was President of the Senate at the Imperial Court in Leipzig.

Life

Von Bomhard was the son of the bailiff Carl von Bomhard (1800–1866) and Charlotte von Arnim (1809–1892). The family on his father's side came from Thuringia . Grandfather Johann Ernst Bomhard (1758–1842) was awarded the Order of Merit of the Bavarian Crown in 1816 with the transmission pin, which entitles him to pass on titles according to the law of the firstborn. This transmission needle was registered in the nobility register for grandfather and father Carl in 1837. After the death of his father, the nobility passed on to his son Ernst under the law of the firstborn. On August 12, 1865, Bomhard married Laura Groß, daughter of the Bamberg- based tobacco manufacturer Theodor Groß and his wife Anna, née. Ista. He was the father of three daughters and one son, Eduard von Bomhard. He also embarked on a legal career and died in 1900 as a district judge in Munich.

Ernst von Bomhard studied law in Munich and became a member of the Corps Isaria in 1852 . In 1856 he passed the state examination. In 1857 he became an accessist at the Bamberg District Court. From 1858 he worked at the Upper Franconian Court of Appeal (today Bamberg Higher Regional Court ). In 1862 he was a functioning public prosecutor in Windsheim and in 1864 second public prosecutor in Bamberg. In 1870 he became district judge in Schweinfurt and in 1871 first public prosecutor at the district court in Straubing. In 1875 Bomhard was delegated to the Bavarian Ministry of Justice . During his time at the Ministry, he was 1877 Appellationsgerichtsrat, 1879 High Court Judge and in 1880 the council of the Bavarian Supreme Court transported. In 1881 he became a Reich judge and from 1892 was President of the Senate at the Reich Court in Leipzig . After retiring in 1902, he received the title of Excellence in 1911 .
