Carlos López y Valles

Carlos López y Valles , known as Chaflán , (born November 4, 1887 in Victoria de Durango , † February 13, 1942 in Tapachula ) was a Mexican actor .

López began his career as an actor in the theater. He had his breakthrough as a cinema actor in the film El águila y el nopal (1929) on the side of Joaquín Pardavé , Roberto Soto and Ramón Arbengol . With roles in El compadre Mendoza (1934), Vámonos con Pancho Villa (1935), La zandunga (1936), Los millones del Chaflán (1938) and ¡Ay Jalisco no te rajes! he became the first great comedian in Mexican film and one of the first great actors in Mexican sound film. In total, he appeared in more than thirty films. His last film came out posthumously in 1945La última aventura de Chaflán in theaters.
