Joaquín Pardavé Arce (born September 30, 1900 in Pénjamo , † July 20, 1955 in Mexico City ) was a Mexican actor, director, screenwriter and songwriter.

Joaquín Pardavé was the son of the actor Joaquín Pardavé Bernal and the Zarzuela singer Delfina Arce Contreras . As a child he was already on stage and began to compose. After his mother's death, he worked as a telegraph worker to help support the family until his uncle Carlos Pardavé placed him as an actor in the Zarzuela Los hijos del Capitán Grant . At the theater he met his future wife Soledad Rebollo , whom he married in 1925 and for whom he composed songs such as Plegaria , Bésame en la boca , Negra consentida and Varita de Nardo .

He began his career as a film actor in 1919 with the silent film Viaje redondo . He then appeared in a number of early sound films such as El águila y el nopal (1929), Águilas Frente al sol (1932), La zandunga (1937), La tía de las muchachas (1938) and En tiempos de Don Porfirio (1939) ). He had his greatest successes in the 1940s in El baisano Jalil (1942), México de mis recuerdos (1944) and Ojos de juventud (1948). El baisano Jalil was also his debut film as a director. In total he worked on more than a hundred films as an actor, director or composer. In addition, he continued to appear in the theater. After he suddenly died of a stroke on July 20, 1955, persistent rumors surfaced that he was buried alive.
