Cortrelle Javon "CJ" Anderson (* 10. February 1991 in Vallejo , California ) is an American American football poker players in the position of running backs . He was most recently with the Detroit Lions in the National Football League (NFL) under contract. Previously, he played for the Los Angeles Rams , the Carolina Panthers , the Oakland Raiders and, for a long time, for the Denver Broncos , with whom he won the Super Bowl 50 in 2016 .

High school and college

Anderson went to high school in his hometown of Vallejo. During his entire high school career, he ran nearly 4,000 yards . In his senior year alone, he ran 1,623 yards and scored 22 touchdowns . He went to the University of California at Berkeley . Here he ran 345 yards (8 touchdowns) in the first year, he also caught seven passes for 186 yards and one touchdown. In his final year, 2012, there were 790 yards run and 15 pass catches for 164 yards (a total of five touchdowns, four of which were run).

NFL

Denver Broncos

Anderson was not selected in the 2013 NFL Draft , but was signed as a free agent by the Denver Broncos . At the beginning of his first NFL season he was injured, which is why he only played 5 games. However, he was part of the team in Super Bowl XLVIII , which was clearly lost with 43-8 against the Seattle Seahawks . In this game he achieved a space gain of 23 yards. In his second season, he scored his first touchdown in the game against the Oakland Raiders on November 9, 2014 . He was also elected to the Pro Bowl for the first time that year . In the 2015 NFL season he reached the Super Bowl again with the Denver Broncos . The Broncos won 24-10 against the Carolina Panthers . Anderson scored a 2-yard touchdown about 3 minutes before the end, which finally sealed the Broncos victory. In total he gained 100 yards of space in this game (90 yards via a running play). The Denver Broncos released him on April 16, 2018.

Carolina Panthers

In early May, he signed a one-year contract with the Carolina Panthers. He was released from the Panthers on November 12, 2018.

Oakland Raiders

After he was signed by the Oakland Raiders in December of the 2018 season , he was dismissed by them after just a week in the roster.

Los Angeles Rams

In the same month of his expulsion from the Raiders, Anderson was signed by the Los Angeles Rams just prior to their participation in the NFL playoffs to relieve the injured running backfield of the Rams. For the Rams, he ran 488 yards and scored four touchdowns in five games. In Super Bowl LIII he lost with the Rams to the New England Patriots 13: 3.

Detroit Lions

For the 2019 season, he signed a one-year contract with the Detroit Lions . On September 17, 2019, he was released by the Lions after two games.
