Shiloh Keo (* 17th December 1987 in Bothell , Washington ) is a former American American Footballer in the National Football League (NFL). He last played for the New Orleans Saints as safety . With the Denver Broncos he could win the Super Bowl 50 .

college

Keo attended the University of Idaho and played college football for their team, the Vandals . He was used as a strong safety and return specialist . He was able to set 358 tackles . As a returner, he still holds numerous school records.

NFL

Houston Texans

In the 2011 NFL Draft , he was selected in the 5th round as 144th overall by the Houston Texans . In the first two seasons, Keo was mainly used in the special teams , in 2012 he was even elected captain by his colleagues . Increasingly, he also acted as the safety of the regular defense , in 2013 he even advanced to the starter. At the beginning of the 2014 season, he sustained a calf injury and was fired by the Texans.

Cincinnati Bengals

In February 2015 he was signed by the Cincinnati Bengals , but released before the start of the regular season .

Denver Broncos

In December 2015 he was signed by the Denver Broncos and was used as a defensive back as well as a special teamer. Keo played a major role in reaching Super Bowl 50 , which the Broncos were then able to win by preventing an attempted onside kick by the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game .

In February 2016, he was temporarily arrested for drunk driving and subsequently banned from the NFL for two games. He was released at the end of October 2016.

New Orleans Saints

On November 9, 2016, Keo was committed by the New Orleans Saints , who tried to react to the poor performance of both the secondary and the special teams. In March 2017, his contract was extended for another year. Nevertheless, he was released on May 15, 2017.

Coaching career

Keo has been an assistant coach at the College of Idaho , a private university, since 2018 and trains the defensive backs of the team there, the Yotes, who play in the NAIA .
