Darian Stewart (* 4. August 1988 in Huntsville , Alabama ) is an American American football player at the position of Safety . He currently plays for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the National Football League (NFL). With the Denver Broncos he won the Super Bowl 50 . He was previously under contract with the St. Louis Rams and the Baltimore Ravens .

college

Stewart, who showed great athletic talent early on - he also showed outstanding achievements in high school as a track and field athlete - attended the University of South Carolina and successfully played college football for their team, the Gamecocks . In total, he was able to set 197 tackles and defend 13 passes. He also got two interceptions and three forced fumbles .

NFL

St. Louis Rams

Stewart was not included in the 2010 NFL Draft , but was signed as a free agent by the St. Louis Rams . He was able to convince in the preparation and thus win a place in the team. In his rookie season he played in 13 games. In the following season he was able to establish himself as a starter . In the next two seasons he was a support in the backfield of the Rams.

Baltimore Ravens

In March 2014, he signed a one-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens and was used in all games.

Denver Broncos

In 2015 the Denver Broncos signed him and he was also able to convince immediately at his new place of work. He became part of the Broncos' hugely successful defense, nicknamed the No Fly Zone , which was instrumental in winning Super Bowl 50 .

In November 2016, the Broncos extended his contract for another four years, Stewart thanked his team with consistently good performances for which he was appointed to the Pro Bowl for the first time .
In 2018 he played 14 games in which he achieved a total of 60 tackles and two interceptions. After the season ended, he was fired from the Broncos.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

In August 2019, Stewart was signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after several injuries suffered injuries while preparing for the safety position.
