Sylvester Williams Jr. (* 21st November 1988 in St. Louis , Missouri ) is an American American football poker players. He last played with the Los Angeles Chargers in the National Football League (NFL) on the position of nose tackle . With the Denver Broncos he could win the Super Bowl 50 .

Early years

Williams initially had no academic or athletic success in high school, so he dropped out of school and kept himself above water with jobs at Taco Bell , Walmart and a radiator factory before he finally caught up with his degree at a community college. Williams then attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and played for their team, the Tar Heels, successfully college football from 2011 to 2012 , achieving a total of 96 tackles and 8.5 sacks .

NFL

Denver Broncos

In the 2013 NFL Draft , he was selected in the first round as a total of 28th by the Denver Broncos . In his rookie season he played in 13 games, either as a nose tackle or as a left defensive tackle , four times as a starter , as well as in Super Bowl XLVIII , which was lost to the Seattle Seahawks . In the following seasons he got more and more playing time and was finally able to establish himself in the strong defense of the Broncos. So he was called up again as a starter in Super Bowl 50 , which could be won against the Carolina Panthers , where he got two tackles and a pass defense in this game.

Tennessee Titans

In March 2017, he signed a three-year contract with the Tennessee Titans . In the 2017 season he played 15 games, with 20 tackles.

Detroit Lions

In March 2018, Williams moved to the Detroit Lions , with whom he signed a one-year contract. After playing six games for the Lions, he was released on October 25, 2018.

Miami Dolphins

On October 31, 2018, Williams signed a new contract with the Miami Dolphins .

New Orleans Saints

On May 13, 2019, he was signed by the New Orleans Saints. He was released before the start of the regular season .
