Shane Ray (* 18th May 1993 in Kansas City , Missouri ) is an American American football poker players on the position of Outside linebackers . He is currently a free agent . He previously played for the Denver Broncos in the National Football League (NFL).

Early years

In high school, Ray played the defensive end position . He later went to the University of Missouri , where he also appeared as a defensive end. In its final season, the college football team scored 65 tackles , including 14.5 for loss of space and 14.5 for sacks .

NFL

Ray was selected 23rd in the first round by the Denver Broncos in the 2015 NFL Draft . A few days before the draft, Ray was arrested for possession of marijuana . he finished his first professional season with 20 tackles and 4 sacks. He won the AFC Finals with the Broncos and the Super Bowl 50 with 24-10 against the Carolina Panthers . In that game he scored two tackles. Due to an arm injury, Ray was placed on the Injured Reserve List prior to the 2017 season .

In 2019 he went to the Baltimore Ravens . On August 30, 2019, before the start of the season, he was released.

Personal

Shane Ray's father, Wendell Ray, was also a linebacker in the NFL. He was selected in the 1981 draft in the fifth round by the Minnesota Vikings , but never played a game in the NFL.
