Aqib Talib (* 13. February 1986 in Cleveland , Ohio ) is an American American Footballer in the National Football League (NFL). He is currently under contract with the Miami Dolphins as a cornerback . He previously played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers , New England Patriots , Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Rams . With the Broncos he won the Super Bowl 50 .
college
In addition to athletics and basketball, Aqib Talib also played American football at Berkner High School in Richardson (Texas) . As a senior, he was named Berkner High School's Defensive Back of the Year . After high school, Talib received offers from the Universities of Kansas , Kansas State , Wyoming , Tulsa , Arizona, and Baylor . He chose the University of Kansas and played there for the Jayhawks. He played against Virginia Tech in the 2008 Orange Bowl and was named the game's MVP .
NFL
In the 2008 NFL Draft , he was selected in the first round in 20th place by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers . Talib stayed with the Buccaneers until 2012 and moved from there to the New England Patriots during the season . With the Patriots he reached the championship game of the AFC in the 2013 season , which the Patriots lost 16:26 against the Denver Broncos . After the season, Talib then moved to the Broncos, with whom he celebrated his first Super Bowl victory two years later. For the 2018 season he moved to the Los Angeles Rams , with whom he lost the Super Bowl LIII against the New England Patriots. After being placed on the injured reserve list due to a rib injury, the Rams handed him over to the rebuilding Miami Dolphins after Matchday 8 of the 2019 season along with a five-round pick to save cap space .
