Jorge Letelier Núñez
Jorge Letelier Núñez (* 1887 in Antofagasta , † 1966 in Santiago de Chile ) was a Chilean painter .
Letelier studied at the Escuela de Bellas Artes with Ricardo Richon Brunet and Fernando Álvarez de Sotomayor and is counted among the painters of the Generación del Trece . After a stay in Europe in 1928, Letelier became one of the leading theorists of the Grupo Montparnasse around José Perotti , Henriette Petit and Julio Ortiz de Zárate, which was shaped by modern French painting .
In addition to his work as an art critic, Letelier taught at the Escuela de Bellas . In 1967 he was honored with a retrospective of the works in the Sala Libertad in Santiago. The oil painting Paisaje is owned by the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes .
