Leif Halvorsen
Leif Fritjof Halvorsen (* 1887 in Kristiania , † 1959 in Oslo ) was a Norwegian composer, violinist and conductor.
Halvorsen was a violinist in the orchestra of the National Theater from 1905 to 1906 , then in the harmonies and worked in Berlin and Paris from 1908 to 1914. In 1915 he was concertmaster at the National Theater, from 1918 to 1921 he was conductor of the Opera comique in Oslo, from 1921 to 1928 conductor of the Cæciliaforeningen . In addition, he went on numerous concert tours as a soloist, was the first violinist of the Norske Strykekvartett and a sought-after violin teacher for many years . Halvorsen composed chamber music, songs and choral songs, cantatas and film music, among other things. He was married to the singer Haldis Halvorsen .
