Cæciliaforeningen (German: Cäcilienverein ) is a Norwegian oratorio choir , founded in 1879 by Thorvald Lammers based on an idea by Edvard Grieg . The choir is Norway's oldest of its kind. Over the decades, the choir has premiered many of the most important choral symphonic works in music literature in Norway, including Bach's Christmas Oratorio in 1883 .
