Johann Heinrich Schäfer
Johann Heinrich Schäfer (born July 11, 1810 - † March 26, 1887 ) was a German organ builder .
Life
Johann Heinrich Schäfer came from a family of organ builders in Göppingen , where his grandfather Johann Georg Schäfer (1760–1826) and his father Johann Georg Schäfer (1785–1845) worked. Like his younger brother Johann Georg Schäfer (1826–1886) , who took over his father's business, he learned the organ building trade from his father. In 1838 he opened his own workshop in Heilbronn . He made numerous organs, especially in what is now Baden-Württemberg .
His son Karl Schäfer (1838–1922) continued the family tradition as an organ builder.
