Life
family
He was the eldest son of Charles I of Portugal and his wife Amélie von Orléans . He received a good education. He was an officer and had military training.
Regicide and revolution
He died on February 1, 1908 in Lisbon with his father in an assassination attempt. During the attack, pistol shots were fired at the carriage in which Ludwig Philipp was traveling with his father. The king died immediately, Ludwig Philipp only succumbed to his injuries 20 minutes later.
