Maria Amalia Teresa of Naples-Sicily (born April 26, 1782 in Naples , † March 24, 1866 in Claremont House near Esher , County Surrey , England ) was a member of the House of Bourbon and Queen of the French from 1830 to 1848.

Life

Maria Amalia of Naples-Sicily

Maria Amalia was a daughter of Ferdinand I di Borbone , King of the Two Sicilies, and Archduchess Maria Karolina of Austria .

She married Louis Philippe I. d'Orléans , King of the French, son of Louis-Philippe II. Joseph de Bourbon, duc d'Orléans and his wife Louise Marie Adélaïde de Bourbon-Penthièvre , on November 25, 1809 in the Palace of Caserta , 40 km from Naples.

Maria Amalia died in exile on March 24, 1866 at the age of 83 at Claremont House in Surrey, England. Claremont House was given to Maria Amalia and her husband Louis-Philippe by Queen Victoria for life.
