Anton Aulke

Anton Aulke (born July 14, 1887 in Senden (Westphalia) ; † December 19, 1974 in Warendorf ) was a German high school teacher and, as a writer, an important representative of dialect poetry in the Münsterland .

Life

Anton Aulke attended the Laurentianum grammar school in Warendorf from 1903 to 1908 , where he graduated from high school. In 1908 he joined the Catholic student union WKSt.V. in Breslau. Guestfalia-Unitas. From 1929 until his retirement in 1952 he taught German and Latin at the Laurentianum.

Anton Aulke was married to Juliana geb. Epping and died in Warendorf in 1974 at the age of 87.

Artistic creation

Aulke is counted among the most important representatives of dialect poetry in the Münsterland, as he has published mostly Low German pieces in addition to a few High German works. He was known as a narrator, poet and radio play author. Countless of his radio plays were broadcast on NWDR , WDR and NDR .
