Adolf von Arnim-Boitzenburg
Count Adolf von Arnim-Boitzenburg (* December 12, 1832 at Boitzenburg Castle ; † December 15, 1887 ibid) was a large German landowner and politician in the Kingdom of Prussia . Before and after the founding of the German Empire , he was a member of the Reichstag .
origin
His parents were the Minister of State Adolf Heinrich von Arnim-Boitzenburg and his wife Anna Caroline von der Schulenburg (1804–1886). His brother Traugott Hermann (June 20, 1839 - January 22, 1919) became a Prussian diplomat.
Life
He attended high schools in Poznan , Berlin and Torgau . He studied law at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen and became active in the Corps Saxonia Göttingen in 1853 . After the exams he was an auscultator in Berlin and Merseburg , a government assessor with the government in Potsdam and an unskilled worker in the Prussian Ministry of the Interior.
As an orderly officer he took part in the German-Danish War and the German-French War . From 1867 to 1873 he was district administrator in the Templin district . He then became a member of the Reichstag , then President of the Lorraine district in 1873 . From 1874 to 1877 he worked as President of the Province of Silesia . He gave up this post after his brother-in-law Harry von Arnim was sentenced to prison. In 1884 he was appointed to the Prussian State Council.
As a member of parliament, he represented the constituency of Potsdam 3 (Ruppin – Templin) from August 1867 until the Reichstag election in 1871 in the first ordinary Reichstag of the North German Confederation . He sat in the Reichstag (German Empire) from 1871 to 1884 for five terms . In 1880 he took over the office of President of the Reichstag for one year . From 1868 he was hereditary member and for some time president of the Prussian manor house .
Adolf von Arnim-Boitzenburg was Fideikommissherr of the County of Boitzenburg (15,000 ha). He was a member of the Prussian State Council, from 1879 until his death President of the General Synod of the Evangelical Church of the older provinces of Prussia , in 1880/81 also President of the Brandenburg Provincial Synod , and Commander of the Order of St. John .

Arnim married Countess Mathilde von Schweinitz and Krain, née Freiin von Kauder (1841; † September 9, 1874) on July 6, 1865. The couple had several children:

After the death of his first wife, he married on November 30, 1875 in Verahof Euphemie Helene von Schweinitz and Krayn (* April 25, 1846, † January 9, 1930), the sister of his first wife. The couple had several children:
