Johann Friedrich Alexander Fürchtegott Count von Zeppelin-Aschhausen (born August 27, 1861 in Baden-Baden , † August 6, 1915 in Würzburg ) was German administrative lawyer and district president in the realm of Alsace-Lorraine .

Life

family

Friedrich von Zeppelin-Aschhausen was the son of Johann Rudolf Fürchtegott Reichsgraf von Zeppelin-Aschhausen (1826-1893) and Mathilde Alice Blech (1840-1926). In 1896 he married Helene Freiin Boecklin von Boecklinsau (1865-1951). They had two children (Johann Friedrich-Hermann Rudolf Ludwig Ferdinand Maximilian Vollrat Fürchtegott von Zeppelin-Aschhausen and Helene Alice Marie Hippolyte Erika Eda Charlotte Alexandra Victoria Charlotte von Zeppelin-Aschhausen).

Career

He received private tuition in his parents' house and attended grammar school in Baden-Baden from 1875 to 1879. After studying in England, he did a year of voluntary military service in Strasbourg. From 1881 he studied law in Strasbourg and Freiburg. From 1891, Zeppelin was a government assessor at various district offices in the realm of Alsace-Lorraine. For the Molsheim district he was a representative in the regional committee of the Reichsland Alsace-Lorraine (1894–1900). In 1898 he became Imperial Councilor and in 1899 Privy Councilor in the office of the Imperial Governor for Alsace-Lorraine, Prince Hermann zu Hohenlohe-Langenburg . From 1901 to 1912 he was district president of Lorraine with his seat in Metz . After a serious hunting accident, Friedrich von Zeppelin-Aschhausen resigned from office in 1912 and lived at the family's headquarters in Aschhausen until his death . He fell ill with diphtheria in 1915 and died in the Juliusspital in Würzburg.

In 1897 Friedrich von Zeppelin-Aschhausen became Chamberlain of Württemberg and was also a member of the First Chamber of the Württemberg Land estates from 1913 until his death .

In 1902 he became a knight and in 1914 commander for Württemberg and Baden of the Order of St. John .
