Adalbert von Flottwell

Julius Adalbert Flottwell ( since 1861 von Flottwell ; * February 3, 1829 in Marienwerder , † May 29, 1909 in Pullach im Isar valley ) was a Prussian civil servant, as well as cabinet minister in Lippe and state director of Waldeck . He was also a German conservative politician.

origin

He was the son of State Minister Eduard von Flottwell (1786-1865) and his wife Auguste Lüdecke (born August 15, 1794, † March 6, 1862).

Life

After studying law , he entered the Prussian civil service. In 1857 he was government assessor in Potsdam and Posen . By the ennoblement of his father in 1861 he was elevated to the peerage. In the same year he became district administrator of Meseritz . Between 1866 and 1868 he was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives as a member of the conservative party . Since 1868 he was the regional director of Waldeck-Pyrmont and head of the administration of this principality. In 1872 he became cabinet minister in the Principality of Lippe . From 1875 he was the district president in Marienwerder . Between 1878 and 1881 Flottwell was a member of the German Conservative parliamentary group in the Reichstag . Here he represented the constituency Marienwerder 7 (Schlochau - Flatow) as a member of parliament. Between 1880 and 1883 he was district president of the Lorraine district , based in Metz . Then Flottwell was director of the Schlesische Bodenkreditbank until 1902.

family

He married Ella von Oppen on May 29, 1860 (* December 7, 1841). The couple had several children:
