Alexander Wilhelm Heinrich August von Oheimb (born January 19, 1820 in Enzen, today Stadthagen ; † August 8, 1903 at Gut Hudenbeck , today Bad Holzhausen ) was a German administrative lawyer and a member of the German parliament in Prussia.

Life

Alexander von Oheimb was born in Enzen in the Principality of Schaumburg-Lippe in 1820 as a member of a family belonging to the Lower Saxon nobility . His parents were Friedrich Wilhelm Christian von Oheimb (* November 8, 1770; † December 29, 1848), Herr auf Enzen, and his second wife Karoline von Ledebur (* February 8, 1796; † June 23, 1821). His brother Ferdinand von Oheimb was the district administrator of the Prussian district of Lübbecke in Westphalia .

Career

After visiting the Ernestinum Rinteln in Rinteln (to 1837) he laid in 1838 at High School in Minden the High School , and then studied at the Friedrich-Wilhelms University in Berlin and the University Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms- law. In 1839 he became a member of the Corps Borussia Bonn .

After graduating, he worked in various positions at the Paderborn Regional Court . In 1849 he was accepted into the Prussian civil service; he became a government assessor at the district government in Minden. In 1852 Alexander von Oheimb was an unskilled worker at the Prussian Ministry of Finance , in 1854 he was transferred to the district government in Koblenz and from 1856 he held the title of councilor. In 1856 Oheimb Lippischer became cabinet minister, he was given leave of absence from the Prussian civil service and finally dismissed in 1859. In 1868 he was also discharged from civil service in the Principality of Lippe. On July 16, 1869, Oheimb was entrusted with the municipal administration of the district administration in the Minden district . The district council exercised its right of proposal on December 30, 1869 and unanimously proposed him as the first candidate for the district office, on January 29, 1870 he was appointed district administrator . He held the office of district administrator until his final dismissal from civil service in 1892. Oheimb died in 1903 on his manor in Holzhausen (today the city of Porta Westfalica ) at the foot of the Weser Mountains.

Alexander von Oheimb was a member of the Provincial Parliament of the Province of Westphalia and has been its chairman since 1889. From 1867 to 1884 he was a member of the Reichstag for the Conservatives . In 1867 he was elected to the constituent Reichstag of the North German Confederation as a representative of the constituency of the Principality of Lippe (-Detmold). For the Principality of Lippe , he was the authorized representative of the Federal Council of the North German Confederation .

In 1871 he represented the electoral district of Minden 1 ( Minden - Lübbecke ) in the Reichstag.

Alexander von Oheimb was a Protestant and married Klara Wilhelmine Henriette Naber (* December 20, 1825, † March 4, 1899). The couple had a son:

  • Bodo von Oheimb (* 18 Aug 1852; † 21 September 1907) ∞ Maria (* 16 Aug 1853; † February 1941), daughter of his brother Friedrich
